N – The Nervous System is an internal system of communication involving sensory receptors, networks of nerve cells, and connections to muscles and glands that respond to nerve signals.

O – Osmosis is the movement of water across a selectively permeable membrane

P – A Phage is a virus that infects bacteria. It is mostly made of proteins and requires a host.

R – Starfish are Radially symmetrical because all sides are the same. Each side is the mirror of the other

S –Somatic Cells are any type of cell in multi-cellular organisms that are not sperm or eggs.

T – Telophase is the 5th stage during mitosis when daughter cells form and cytokinesis occurs.

U – The Ureters are the passages that lead from the kidneys to the bladder

V – A Viroid is a pathogen that only affects plant cells. It is mostly made of circular RNA.

W – A Wetland is a habitat that is filled with water at least some of the time. It supports plants adapted to water-saturated soil.

X – The Xylem is vascular plant tissue consisting mainly of tubular dead cells that conduct most of the water and minerals upward from the roots to the rest of the plant.

Y – A Yolk Sac encloses the yolk in reptiles and is the first site of blood cell and circulatory system function.

Z – A Zoospore is a flagellated spore found in chytrid fungi and some protists.
